Perimenopause Oakland Support Network

Every year, 2 million women in the US enter perimenopause. And yet, many women feel more isolated than ever during this momentous phase of life. While menopause education and discussions are starting to increase, Women4Good wanted to create a hyper-local, safe space for women to connect around their perimenopause experiences. With that, Perimenopause Oakland Support, our first chapter was created in January 2026. The group is currently invite-only, for Oakland, CA based folks. If you know someone interested, they can fill out our form here.

Background

As an IVF mama, and now a woman in perimenopause, I’ve come to cherish my health over the last few years. I founded Perimenopause Oakland Support as a way to de-stigmatize and facilitate conversations around this huge life transition. Many of our members are coming into perimenopause right after post-partum experiences, which has been a major transition within a transition to navigate.

What we did

We created a dedicated WhatsApp channel to enable members to confide over symptoms, recommend local physicians & healers, and feel empowered during this transitory time. Women in perimenopause are often time-strapped, busy with families and careers. We also created in-person meetups, a “Monthly “Midlife Lady Walk” to bring together wellness time with connection time. Lastly our group crowd-sourced fitness, nutrition, supplement, sleep and local medical practitioners to empower ourselves with.

Impact

As one member stated “I was feeling so isolated about perimenopause, and this network has helped me find my flow and the space for me to exhale”. Several members of the group have become investors in Women’s Health via Portfolia, the largest women’s health investment fund in the world.
